Robin van Duiven has left PSV. The 19-year-old striker, who was Jong PSV’s top scorer with fourteen goals, will complete this football season on loan at the Belgian club Lommel SK. There, at the second level of Belgium, he becomes a teammate of his brother Jason.

Robin van Duiven played football in Eindhoven for almost 6.5 years. He signed his first professional contract there in 2023. After his rental period at Lommel SK, the young attacker will transfer to Real Valladolid in Spain. He signed a three-year contract there a few weeks ago.

Despite his good performances in Jong PSV, the Eindhoven club decided not to give Robin van Duiven a chance in the first team. He was also not taken to a training camp in Spain during the winter break.

At the beginning of this season, club icons René and Willy van de Kerkhof appealed in Omroep Brabant’s Willy and René podcast to give Van Duiven a chance, due to the many injuries the PSV strikers are dealing with this season. But that never happened.

Robin van Duiven was temporarily included in the selection for the Champions League match against German Bayer Leverkusen (1-1), but even then he did not get any playing time.

“Robin is a targeted reinforcement for the core of the team.”

In Lommel, Van Duiven becomes a teammate of his brother Jason. He switched from Jong PSV to Manchester City in the summer of 2024 and was then based at SK Lommel.

Jeffrey van As, technical director of SK Lommel, calls Robin van Duiven ‘a targeted reinforcement for the core of the team’.
