City council explained: this is what the municipality will look like for the next 4 years

Municipal elections are always difficult. We are therefore happy to help you by explaining in an easy way who will be on our city council for the next four years and determines how the money will be spent.

On Wednesday, March 16, you could cast your vote for the last time for the party and party leader that you thought should be included in the municipality. That is what 52.3 percent of all eligible voters in Zoetermeer did.

Advice by informant

The number of votes is then used to determine who will receive a seat in the municipal council. We have 39 seats in Zoetermeer. Each seat is a vote in the council of the municipality. A majority of these 39 people must agree on a plan before it is implemented. That is why parties form a coalition. That is a majority of the seats, which work together to implement plans.

Informer Sander Dekker has issued his advice on what he thinks this coalition should look like. His conclusion is that the parties VVD, LHN, Zó! Zoetermeer, PDvZ, CDA and ChristenUnie-SGP can best form a college.
