A lapse that quickly went viral on social networks made the leader of the New MORE, Manuela Castañeirain involuntary tendency. In a recent video in which he promoted the traditional summer event of his political space, he uttered—or seemed to utter—the phrase “See you at sex camp”rather “6th Anticapitalist Camp”.

The clip began to circulate strongly in x (ex Twitter), where it was replicated with ironic comments and humorous edits. In the images, Castañeira is seen with his usual style: emphatic tone, militant message and a call aimed especially at young people, with criticism of figures such as donald trump and to Immigration and Customs Enforcementand a call to organize “to have fun and defeat the labor counterrevolution.” However, the phonetic error quickly shifted the axis of the message towards the viral plane.

The Anticapitalist Camp, organized by the youth of the space ¡Ya Basta! and with the prominent participation of Castañeira, he is no stranger to attention on networks. For several editions, the event has often been the subject of comments and memes that contrast its ideological discourse with the youth camp format, with tents, political talks, bonfires and slogans against leaders of the ruling party and liberalism.

The episode occurred at a sensitive moment for the leader, who seeks to regain centrality within the anti-capitalist left after the elections and in a context of strong economic crisis. The lapse was not clarified or corrected publicly until now and was taken advantage of by critical users to reinforce ironic readings about Trotskyist militancy.

In the original video published on their networks, the verbatim phrase is: “We anti-capitalists have fun. See you at the 6th Anticapitalist Camp to organize against the fascists…”. However, collective interpretation made its way and the fragment went viral detached from its original intention.

The meeting, however, is still on the agenda. It will take place from February 14 to 17 and promises debates, cultural activities and spaces for political organization. It remains to be seen whether the episode will remain a passing anecdote or whether it will once again eclipse, at least on networks, the content of the message that the space seeks to install.
