The 21-year-old Pauwels played a strong season at Cambuur Leeuwarden last year. As a result, the Belgian attacker made a transfer to Spain this summer for 1.3 million euros.
He is under contract with Léganes until 2029, but this season things are not going well at the club from central Spain. In the first half of the season he played twelve matches for the Spaniards and mainly came on as a substitute.
