Which carnival song will be the hit of the year? The ‘Choose Your Kraker’ ballot box has been open since Monday morning! It is now up to the public to choose the successor to ‘Dikke Pens’. The eventual winner of Kies je Kraker will be announced live on stage during 3 Uurkes Vurraf.
Every year Omroep Brabant searches for the best carnival song of the year. A tradition that is growing bigger and bigger and has also produced a number of indestructible classics over the years. Who doesn’t sing along to ‘Stripke veur’, ‘Hey Jacqueline!’ or for example ‘Hands, hands, flower curtain’? All winners of Kies je Kraker.
This year, Omroep Brabant received almost 300 entries. An expert jury has selected 33 songs that compete with each other. After the first round, the bottom 22 are eliminated and the top 11 enter the final. The winner of Kies je Kraker will be announced during 3 Uurkes Vurraf on Friday, February 13.
“This competition really matters,” says Mark Versteden of Kies je Kraker. “Artists want that title and go to great lengths. In addition to the trophy, it also brings a lot of prestige. And, not unimportantly, a lot of bookings! Everyone wants the carnival hit of the year on stage.”
