FC Bayern finally wants to put an end to the contract negotiations with its top performer Dayot Upamecano. Apparently, people on Säbener Strasse are now preparing to pull the ripcord.
As “Sky” reports, FC Bayern’s sporting leadership around Max Eberl and Christoph Freund has received approval from the supervisory board to withdraw the contract offer that had already been sent to Dayot Upamecano in the next few days.
A rigorous step, because this would mean that the long-lasting negotiations would have finally failed and the central defender would leave Munich at the end of the season. The German record champions would not collect a transfer fee due to the expiring contract.
The Munich bosses had noticeably increased the pressure on the players in the past few days. “Of course it’s like that, it’s completely clear: now a decision has to be made at some point,” Eberl told the TV station on Saturday on the sidelines of the away game at HSV (2:2). FC Bayern no longer wants to negotiate
“I know that he and his family feel very comfortable in Munich. However, I fear that his advisors will do everything to steer him away from Munich,” he said in an interview with the “kicker” about the Frenchman’s entourage. He added that he was “horrified” by the behavior of the players’ agents.
According to reports, Upamecano has now received an improved offer that includes both a deposit for signing the contract and an exit clause. Both should be demands from the players. In addition, FC Bayern would pay a hefty consulting fee, which annoys Hoeneß.
