Title dream shattered: Germany fails against Denmark

Germany wanted to win its third European Championship title and started the game well. However, there were a few setbacks during the game.
The German handball players lost the final of the European Championship. National coach Alfred Gíslason’s team suffered a painful X:X (16:18) defeat against hosts Denmark and in the end “only” won the silver medal. For the DHB selection it would have been the third European title after 2004 and 2016. The Scandinavians, on the other hand, ended their curse and were crowned European champions for the first time since 2012.
