Energie Cottbus is celebrating a special milestone. However, an incident occurs.
The 60th birthday of Energie Cottbus attracted many fans to the streets of the city. A woman was injured on the sidelines of the celebrations.
According to the police, she was hit by a rocket on Friday evening. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated on site, a police spokesman said. In total, up to 2,000 supporters were out on Friday evening and Saturday night to celebrate the club’s anniversary. According to the police, things remained mostly quiet.
An official ceremony was scheduled for Saturday evening. Numerous former coaches and players were expected to attend. Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD), himself a member of the club, praised FC Energie Cottbus in advance as a “symbol of work, perseverance, will and willingness to perform”.
