Leroy Sané has to cope with a bitter diagnosis after the Champions League game against Manchester City. Galatasaray Istanbul leaves an important question unanswered.
Leroy Sané has to cope with a setback in the fight for a World Cup nomination in the summer: the national player suffered a serious ankle injury.
As his club Galatasaray Istanbul announced, several structures in the right ankle were torn. The 30-year-old midfielder suffered a tear in the outer collateral ligaments and the joint capsule in his right foot during Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat in the Champions League against his former club Manchester City and also suffered bleeding.
The Turkish top club announced that Sané is already undergoing treatment. How long the offensive player will be out is currently unclear.
The former Bayern professional only moved to Istanbul in the summer and is one of the top performers at Galatasaray. In 18 competitive games so far he has six goals and three assists.
