Home nurse Stefanie Sande arrived at the council chamber in Bruges this morning around half past eight, hoping that they would release her. She has been under electronic surveillance for a few weeks and can therefore not go where she wants. But the council chamber does not consider release to be an option, it became apparent this morning, in the interest of the investigation.
The fraud of which the 43-year-old woman is suspected is not minor. She is said to have defrauded the RIZIV of about 1.7 million euros. Sander was in jail for a month and a half. Since the beginning of this month she has been able to go home with an ankle bracelet, and she also showed it off on social media.
