Mustard after the meal: Malou Petter was on Eva Jinek’s talk show this week to lament about her failed switch to News of the Day. “Now, girl, back to the teleprompter!”

© NPO

Malou Petter’s performance in Eva Jinek’s talk show was unnecessary and superfluous. She was there to talk about her departure from News of the Day, but that was a very long time ago. There is really no one who is still working on that, except Malou and Eva. Why is it relevant to allocate another fifteen minutes of airtime for this?

Great journalist

It gives Malou a harsh review from the headquarters of Today Inside. “That girl who did News of the Day was acting interesting again, but she has done nothing in her life other than read an autocue and she looks like the great journalist there,” Johan Derksen sneers.

Thomas van Groningen, her successor at Nieuws van de Dag, chuckles at the bar. “She once sat here at the bar and it was so incredibly funny, because someone from the editors told Wilfred that she had her manager with her.”

Manager along

Very strange, Thomas thinks. “That manager then sat in the audience and every time, with every question you asked, you said: ‘Your manager allows you to say that?’ She was such a jerk to that manager.”

Wilfred Genee: “Yes, but who brings a manager? You don’t bring a manager to a program, do you?”

Johan: “That woman is so attuned to an autocue with reading out stupid sentences, and she was sitting here and we have never seen an autocue here and then nothing comes out. She has nothing to say without an autocue.”

Twelve minutes

TV authority Tina Nijkamp believes that Eva is following the facts too far. “No, and what I found very strange: it has been six months since she left News of the Day and now she comes to talk about it for ten, twelve minutes? That she left and quit her job? It’s just a job, right?”

“The whole time she was going, ‘I don’t know, I don’t know.’ I think: should we talk about that for ten minutes? You have also already told your story in the Libelle. She really had a very detailed story there with photos.”

Waltzing Wierd

Johan thinks Malou is a failure. “But what happened? She just couldn’t handle Wierd Duk! He rolled over her!”

Tina: “It’s quite strange that Eva spends ten minutes on that. She also announces: ‘Everyone was working on it far beyond Hilversum.’ Then I think: well, I don’t think that many people were working on that.”

René van der Gijp: “Yes, six months ago, man. Stop it, man! Getting old cows out of the ditch.”

Tina decides: “Go and present EenVandaag, great fun for you, girl. Go and read again!”
