Six companies in Drenthe were declared bankrupt this month. A relatively low number and with these bankruptcies the impact is generally also small in terms of job losses.

In previous months, the number of bankrupt companies in Drenthe was just under ten. So the start of the new year is a little bit more optimistic.

The first Drenthe company to go bankrupt this year was Golf Backyard in Emmen. The company sold all kinds of golf equipment such as golf mats and golf simulators. But that sale had been on hold for a while, says curator Peter Sluyter.

Bankruptcy was declared on January 7. “For me it is nothing more than the resolution of an already discontinued company,” Sluyter explains. “The company already stopped trading during the course of last year.” In this case there is no question of staff being laid off due to the bankruptcy.

According to the curator, there are no large bankruptcy debts, so there are no victims who are left empty-handed. “Just a matter of finishing it and done,” says Sluyter. The company became a BV in 2023. Before that it was a sole proprietorship for a number of years.

While the curator at Golf Backyard could say little about it, in the event of the next bankruptcy it will be even more difficult. On the same day of the golf equipment seller’s bankruptcy, the company also came to an official end Silti BV. in Emmer-Compascuum. A company that, according to official data, was engaged in the manufacture of furniture.

But what exactly did the company do? Even the appointed curator Peter van Rossum does not know exactly. According to the curator, it appears to be a kind of dormant company. “It is a BV without employees, but also without activity. A lot is still unclear to me, I have only spoken to the director once,” says Van Rossum.

Silti does not have a long life, according to the information provided by the curator. “The company has only been active for a short time, as it was founded in 2025. The company ordered goods but did not pay, which is why the bankruptcy application arises.” The company is said to be registered as a timber trade and as a furniture maker, among other things. But the curator cannot provide more clarity.

There is more story behind the bankruptcy Car Cleaning Joldersma in Emmen. Entrepreneur Jordi Joldersma started out as a car mechanic, but due to circumstances he became a car cleaner. In 2020, he decided to set up his own company in this field. On the website, the company proudly states that it has already cleaned more than 5,600 cars. But due to personal circumstances, the company took a turn for the worse.
