In the 2nd Bundesliga, 1. FC Nürnberg drew 1-1 (0-0) against Preußen Münster and is stuck in the middle of the table. The guest from Münster was happy to take the first point in 2026, but is still deep in the relegation battle.
Mohamed Alì Zoma gave Nuremberg the lead in the second half on Friday (56′), Jorrit Hendrix (63′) was able to equalize for Preußen Münster a little later.
An entertaining initial phase developed in the Max Morlock Stadium in frosty temperatures. The club took the initiative and had good opportunities early on. Nuremberg was unlucky when Rafael Lubach shot off the post (3rd). The guest from Münster was also happy that the FCN’s offensive department was not rewarded for its impressive performance.
“The energy on the pitch was there. But the evaluation of chances – that wasn’t so good today,” club coach Miroslav Klose said afterwards on the sports show microphone.
Nuremberg doesn’t hit the goal
The balance of power didn’t change much until the break. Münster didn’t get any access and the FCN was unable to successfully complete at least one of its offensive actions.
At the start of the second half, the club picked up where it left off in the first half – but this time with more fortune.
Zoma redeems the club – but only briefly
After another mistake in the build-up game by the Prussians, Mohamed Alì Zoma was there and scored the deserved lead for coach Miroslav Klose’s team from 16 meters with a powerful low shot from the half-right position.

But the joy of taking the lead only lasted for a short time. With the first consistent attack, Münster equalized a few minutes later. Prussian captain Hendrix took advantage of Nuremberg’s inattention and dryly completed a classic counterattack to make it 1-1.
Few chances for Nuremberg and Münster in the second half
The equalizer gave Nuremberg noticeably something to think about. In the final quarter of an hour, both teams looked for a way forward, but neither team had any serious chances to take the lead – although Münster invested significantly more than in the first half.
So in the end it was a fair draw, which the guests probably liked much better. By gaining points, Nuremberg gained a place in the table, at least temporarily (eighth place, 26 points). The Prussians climbed to twelfth place, but with 21 points they are still in acute danger of relegation.
“The point was hard-fought, it was important. It was the first point this year. It was hard work today,” Münster’s coach Alexander Ende said to the sports show after the game.
