Willie Wartaal (43) hits back hard at the woman who attacked him this week in the Weekend: Tineke de Nooij (84), Gordon’s media mother. “Who is this?!” the rapper shouts.
The criticism of the comeback of The Voice of Holland is widely shared: the makers are now so careful that the talent show has simply become extremely boring. Where there used to be tension thanks to spirited coaches like Anouk, it is now all peace and quiet. Keep the peace. And even Willie Wartaal turns out to be quite good.
Tineke demolishes Willie
Good or not: it is of course more important that the coaches are capable enough as mentors. And Tineke de Nooij has her doubts about that. She finds Willie Wartaal unsuitable. “Rappers are not singers. They are commercial guys. It’s as if they thought: we should also have a rapper in the program.”
She thinks it is an incredible weakness on RTL’s part. “As far as I’m concerned, there’s no added value in that. But yes, that’s what a very old person says. There is a category of music that I skip these days.”
Willie strikes back

René van der Gijp screams: “Tineke is already sleeping! Tineke is already sleeping! Hahahaha.”
Willie: “No, I really like this. ‘Willy Wartaal’, misspelled, ‘and Dinand are not my thing.’ Yes, I understand that very well and it really doesn’t matter.”
