NAC has not won ten matches in the Eredivisie. The club from Breda was happy with a point in front of its own audience on Friday evening. Carl Hoefkens’ team drew 2-2 against FC Twente. NAC remains in seventeenth place in the Eredivisie after 21 matches.
Both teams had opportunities to open the scoring in the first half, but failed to do so in the Rat Verlegh Stadium until the 42nd minute. After Twente goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall had interrupted an NAC attack, Mats Rots pushed the ball past NAC goalkeeper Daniel Bielica after an assist from brother Daan Rots.
FC Twente made it 0-2 five minutes after the break through Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who scored from a counter. NAC returned the favor in the 61st minute with a goal from a counter-punch by Charles-Andreas Brym. The home team then went looking for the equalizer. It came in the 87th minute via Moussa Soumano.
The last time NAC won a competition match was on November 1 last year when Go Ahead Eagles were defeated 1-0.
