On December 2, baby Seff was born on the hard shoulder of the N261 between Waalwijk and Tilburg, exactly at hectometer marker 9.9. Now Seff has received a special maternity gift: his own hectometer sign.
Our province received a remarkable request. Amber and Wouter, Seff’s parents, wanted their own sign for hectometer marker 9.9 on the provincial road N261.
The family is doing well
And so it happened: two road inspectors personally delivered the special maternity gift to the family from Kaatsheuvel. Mother, father and child are doing well, the province reports on Instagram.
For father Wouter, the special birth had extra meaning. Earlier in 2025, he lost his uncle and aunt in an accident in Egypt. “Within a year you lose loved ones in traffic, but new life is also given in traffic. It’s unique that it works like this.”
In any case, the hectometer sign 9.9 will get a nice spot above Seff’s cradle.
