It’s the last round
The pace remains high even on the descent into the stadium. Vinzenz Geiger is now the only German athlete who can still keep up the pace. Julian Schmid with Wendelin Thannheimer and Johannes Rydzek is already 14 seconds behind the lead. Will the trio approach again?
12:45
Obermeyr ensures that the pace increases
Fabio Obermeyr now takes the lead on the mountain and increases the pace again. The ÖSV athlete is one of the better runners and around eight athletes can still keep up with the pace. Rydzek has to fight for connection.
12:45
Austrians take the lead
Around ten athletes are still at the front of the leadership group. Lamparter continues to set the pace and alternates with Stefan Rettenegger at the top. But Wendelin Thannheimer, Vinzenz Geiger, Julian Schmid and Johannes Rydzek are also still there. Just like Jens Lurås Oftebro and his brother Einar Lurås Oftebro and Ilkka Herola.
12:43
Germans still there
Geiger, Rydzek and Schmid are also back on Lamparter in the stadium halfway through the race and are around six seconds behind the Austrian in seventh, eighth and ninth place.
12:40
Lamparter increases the pace
Lamparter now at the top. The Austrian increases the pace slightly on the climb and is the first to go downhill. Only Skoglund can keep up with the ÖSV athlete’s pace, but Stefan Rettenegger also approaches the duo again on the descent.
12:37
Skoglund now in front
Andreas Skoglund has now moved to the front of the field and is taking over the management work. Herola is right behind him. Stefan Rettenegger has now worked his way up to third place. The German combined athletes are now hiding a little in the field.
12:37
Violinist at the top
In the stadium, Vinzenz Geiger now takes the lead and is the first to go through the intermediate time of 2.5 kilometers. Behind them are Herola, Costa and Rydzek. Shortly afterwards, the athletes slowed down a little and no one wanted to take the lead.
12:36
Small increase in speed
Now the Finn increases the pace at the front and pulls away a little from Johannes Rydzek and Vinzenz Geiger on the descent. Jens Lurås Oftebro can also approach again on the descent. Lamparter is also still there.
12:35
The pace isn’t that high yet
Unlike the women, the field is still close together. Almost all athletes can keep up the pace on the climb. Johannes Lamparter has also worked his way forward and is in sixth place.
12:33
Herola continues to be at the top
The Finn is still in the lead and sets the pace with Johannes Rydzek and Vinzenz Geiger. Samuel Costa is also at the start at the front. Jens Lurås Oftebro is still hiding a bit in eighth place.
12:32
Herola sets the pace
Illka Herola immediately moves to the front of the field with Johannes Rydzek and Julian Schmid and keeps the pace high. Einar Lurås Oftebro is also at the front.
