In 2025, the number of passengers at Ostend-Bruges Airport was fifteen percent higher than in 2024. But at the beginning of 2024, the airport was closed for eight weeks due to the renovation of the runway. This means that the airport will welcome more than 400,000 passengers for the first time since 2019. The summer months were again very busy, with September as the absolute top month. In 2025, Ostend-Bruges Airport also processed a total of 22,899 tons of freight, an increase of 26 percent compared to 2024. Financially, the airport also ended with a positive operating result of 78,000 euros.
“Travelers are increasingly making a conscious choice for comfort and proximity,” said Nathan De Valck, CEO of Ostend-Bruges Airport. “Departures close to home, short waiting times and a smooth check-in contribute to a pleasant travel experience. With a stable offering, targeted investments and a clear focus on quality and efficiency, we want to continue building sustainable growth in the coming years, in balance with our environment. The focus is on the sustainable expansion of our activities, in combination with more efficient operations, targeted cost control and further modernization. This way, the airport can continue to fulfill its role in the regional economy and the broader transport chain.”
