Anyone convicted of serious crimes such as organized crime, life or sexual offenses runs the risk of losing Belgian nationality. The House approved a bill for this purpose by Minister of Justice Annelies Verlinden (CD&V) on Thursday evening. Nationality can only be revoked if the perpetrator became Belgian in the fifteen years prior to the offenses.
