The government received more than 2,000 complaints last year about urgent repair services such as plumbers, roofers and especially electricians. That is a record, according to figures that HLN consumer expert Safia Yachou was able to view for the first time. The elderly parents-in-law of Tony Segers (65) from Hamme are one of the victims. They called in an electrician when part of their home suddenly lost power. “My sick father-in-law was hanging from an oxygen tank and urgently needed electricity. Twenty minutes of work, but the electrician only thought about his 700 euros.”
