Sinner-Djokovic, time, TV and streaming: when they play the Australian Open and where to watch it

Penultimate round of the Australian Open 2026. It’s time for the semi-finals, time to find out who the contenders will be for the first Slam of the season on Sunday 1 February. Two spectacular matches, the best you could ask for, given that (for the first time since 2013 in Melbourne) the top four players in the ranking will compete. Jannik Sinner against Novak Djokovic for the lower part, Carlos Alcaraz against Alexander Zverev for the upper part. Curiously, the only debutant at this point in the Australian Major is the Spaniard, world no.1. On the Rod Laver Arena, from 4.30 am Italian time between Thursday 29th and Friday 30th January, great tennis will reign supreme.

The world nos. 1 and 3, Alcaraz and Zverev, will take to the field first. The German is playing to get to his fourth Slam final, second in a row in Australia, and to get back ahead in the historic match against the Spaniard. The precedents read 6-6 at the moment, with Zverev winning two out of four times, including once at the 2024 Australian Open, at Slam level. However, Carlitos has emerged triumphant from three of the last four matches, and is racing to become the youngest ever to complete the Career Grand Slam. In the Italian morning, however, from 9.30, it will be the turn of Sinner and Djokovic, No. 2 and 4 on the scoreboard, against each other for the third time in the last four Major semi-finals. The Italian is ahead 6-4 in previous matches with five victories in a row, including the semi-final of the 2024 Australian Open on the way to his first Slam. He aims to complete a historic hat-trick in Melbourne, previously achieved only by Jack Crawford, Roy Emerson and Nole himself. Who, for his part, after breaking out in a cold sweat and thanking the tennis gods against Musetti, wants to further improve his records by winning his 25th Slam. And thus become the absolute Slam leader, among men and women.
