On Sunday morning, a car trip for an HSV player ends abruptly. The police measure a value that has consequences. It’s not his first misstep.

The Hamburger SV apparently has a problem with Jean-Luc Dompé. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, the police took the 30-year-old Frenchman out of traffic on Sunday morning – he was behind the wheel of his Audi with a blood alcohol level of 1.4.

The officers stopped the professional footballer’s car at 7 a.m. on Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße, in the middle of Hamburg city. The alcohol test was clear: 1.4 per mille. According to “Bild”, the police then took Dompé to the station in Caffamacherzeile, where they took away his driving license. The club has been informed.

The situation is for him HSV particularly explosive because Dompé had already done something similar almost two years ago. In February 2023, he caused an accident with teammate William Mikelbrencis and then fled the scene of the accident. The penalty: 45,000 euros.

In terms of sport, the Frenchman is one of Hamburg’s most important players this Bundesliga season. He appeared on the pitch 14 times and scored twice. However, his Achilles tendon has been bothering him for days, especially since the goalless derby against St. Pauli on Friday. He trained with the team again on Wednesday. From a sporting perspective, nothing should stand in the way of playing against Bayern Munich on Saturday.
