Harry Styles has been extremely rare since the end of his “Love On Tour” in July 2023. But on February 28th he returns to the stage. He will perform live for the first time in three years at the Brit Awards in Manchester, England. It is also the first time that he has recorded songs from his upcoming album “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” plays in public.
In addition to Styles, the only other artist confirmed for the show is Olivia Dean.
The appearance marks a significant comeback for Styles, who has largely retreated from the public eye in recent years. For fans who were unable to get tickets to his recent concerts, this is a rare opportunity to see him live again.
Announcement follows tour plans for 2026
The announcement of his Brit Awards appearance comes just a week after Styles revealed his plans for the 2026 Together, Together world tour. The tour only takes him to seven cities worldwide. The centerpiece is an unprecedented 50-evening stay at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Advance sales for the New York shows set records. 11.5 million people registered for the presale phase. This marked the highest presale interest ever recorded by an artist in New York City – also the largest presale registration ever for a residency-type concert series.
Frustration among fans about tickets and prices
Unsurprisingly, many fans reacted with frustration at long digital queues and high ticket prices. The 11.5 million registered people are competing for around 540,000 tickets. While waiting, fans were informed: “Tickets for this event have been pre-determined by the tour operator at prices ranging from $50 to $1,182.40 including service fees. Ticket prices do not change in presale or regular sales. Pricing does not apply to VIP packages. Tickets are subject to availability.”
Regular ticket sales for the shows take place on January 30th and February 4th. Despite the limited number of concerts, demand remains enormous, underlining Styles’ status as a global pop star.
Conversations about new music and inspirations
In a recent interview with John Mayer on SiriusXM, Styles discussed his new album’s lead single, “Aperture.” “It was the last song written for the album,” he explained. “It was the moment we felt freest in making music. It’s the first song I play to people when I show them what the new music sounds like. It just felt obvious that this song should come first.”
He added that the idea of opening up and entering a new phase played a central role. “That feeling of opening a door and marking a transition was exactly what I wanted to convey,” says Styles.
Time as a concert-goer instead of as a performer
Styles also reported that he has spent the last few years traveling around the world and attending concerts himself. “The most important thing was to be on the other side of the audience,” he said. “When you spend so much time on stage, it’s easy to forget what it feels like to be in the middle of a crowd, dancing and singing with strangers. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last few years.”
This perspective had a lasting impact on him and influenced his approach to new music. Direct contact with the live experience from the audience’s perspective was essential for him.
Inspiration from LCD sound system
Styles told the BBC that two LCD Soundsystem shows in particular inspired him. “I saw them at a festival in Madrid, which was basically in a car park, and again later in Brixton,” he said. “It was just incredibly joyful.”
He was particularly impressed by how much the band had blossomed at the moment. “When you watch them get into it, you think, ‘That’s exactly how I want to feel when I’m on stage,'” Styles explained. This experience had a direct influence on the music he recently wrote.
Looking ahead: album start and possible further tours
“Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.” will be released on March 6th. Even if Styles only plays seven cities in 2026, it is likely that he will target additional markets in 2027. Given the 11.5 million people who registered for the presale at Madison Square Garden alone, the need would definitely be there.
To satisfy all of these fans, however, Styles would have to schedule around 600 additional shows in the arena. A scenario that seems unrealistic, but impressively illustrates how great the demand is for his live comeback.
