BVB wants to qualify for the playoff phase of the Champions League on Wednesday evening. But defensively the options are running out.
The personnel situation at Borussia Dortmund is getting worse: Before the decisive group game in the Champions League against Inter Milan (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online), not only Marcel Sabitzer (calf problems) and Niklas Süle (back problems) are out, but also defender Waldemar Anton. Like Sky and those
“Ruhr Nachrichten” reports that head of defense Waldemar Anton has an infection. The 29-year-old was missing when he left for the team hotel.
The team around coach Niko Kovač hardly has any options left in defense. Dortmund are also thinly staffed in central defense due to the short-term departure of Aarón Anselmino. With 20-year-old Filippo Mane, there is only one other central defender on the bench. The Ruhr Nachrichten reports that the squad against Inter Milan will only contain 17 players.
According to Sky, Ramy Bensebaini will slide into the starting lineup for Anton. The Westphalians would therefore play with a three-man chain consisting of the Algerian, Nico Schlotterbeck and Emre Can.
In the last group game, the Black and Yellows only need a draw to make it into the playoffs.
