Ariel is the great detective who asks questions that Gil Ofarim cannot avoid. In his former remorse interview on RTL, he was able to tell his “own version” of the Star of David scandal and give monologues. Here he has to answer the questions of the stubborn 22-year-old Swiss woman, who won’t let up.
She puts him close to a “criminal”. He calls her “Musele” and points out the age difference. Big mistake. Mansplaining. Ariel can’t be offered something like that.

A man on the ground
It must be very tiring for Gil Ofarim to be here. For the money? “Among other things,” he says. And I don’t know any other answer. It must also be tiring because he specializes in one-liners. If you don’t speak much, it’s easier to keep your voice low and to preserve the unnatural timbre.
Most of the time he looks at the ground, like someone in prison who doesn’t want to attract the attention of the bears while walking in the yard. If his story is more than just the Star of David story – then why doesn’t he tell it, but silently lower his gaze? It’s sad because he doesn’t seem to have anything to say.
Ariel doesn’t let up
Ariel investigative: “What are you doing here! You’re just chilling your balls here.” And in front of the camera: “Signed a confidentiality agreement? Gil! ‘G’ for ‘lied’!”
“I didn’t come here to reopen this story,” says Ofarim. And that he “personally apologized.”
What is left to wish for?
What should one wish for Gil Ofarim? He gets his high salary anyway. He always blames his children – he has already mentioned them twice in two programs. He has to feed her.
Gil Ofarim is one of the most hated people in Germany. He will have thought about how he would tell “his story” in the jungle camp if there was this confidentiality agreement.
So he wakes Umut up at night. Bring him to the campfire. Umut is a nice guy who is not known for talking back.
He had to sell his beloved microphone because of a lack of money. “I asked myself what was the point of all this,” Ofarim tells Umut. When everything is over, he wants to go to Munich to be with his children. Umut is convinced of him. “Actions count, not words. If he does that: Munich, then I say: hats off.”
Ofarim spices up his campfire story with Beatlemania experiences – Beatlemania that he experienced firsthand. “They closed the whole airport in Bangkok – when I landed.” Lots of fans who were waiting for him there.
Mouse Less?
At least not clever stories if you want to give the impression that you’re feeling bad. Is this what Ofarim is missing today? The recognition of screaming fans?
So, what to wish Ofarim? Maybe he’ll become king of the jungle. Then he has to hold out for a long time, so he really has to do something for his money. It seems impossible that Ofarim will be able to successfully continue his music career.
At the end of the show, Ofarim is almost chosen for the next jungle test. Almost. He ends up in second place behind Ariel. Who voted for him – his fans (from Bangkok) or the people who don’t like him? He might like to have insight into this mood barometer. Unfortunately, telephone participation says nothing about popularity ratings.
The true sentences of the day
By the way, the most beautiful, truest sentence of the day came from Eva. She tells him to Ariel: “My personality is not based on a story. You can get to know me here.” That’s true. And is the jungle essence that so often no one thinks about.
The second best sentence comes from the TV farmer: “It didn’t work out with her. It didn’t work out with the runner-up either.”
The best scream: from Hubert during the jungle test. When the cockroaches pounce on him, he screams – in pain. “Ariel, stop!” In fact, her screaming is as bad as Willie’s in the Temple of Doom. Exam messed up. “Nothing to eat again, man!” Hubert shouts.
The two of them belong in every exam from now on.
