On Wednesday evening in Berlin, the Federal Association of the Music Industry (BVMI) honored three artists who significantly determined the Official German Charts 2025. At the Artist Celebration Night at Station Berlin, Kontra K, Oimara and Zartmann were honored in front of around 280 guests from the music industry, politics, media and culture. The awards are based on the Official German Charts, which are determined by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the BVMI.

Three awards for national chart success

The focus of the evening was three categories: “Domestic Album of the Year”, “Domestic Single of the Year” and “Domestic Newcomer of the Year”. The award went to national artists whose releases in 2025 were particularly successful. Guests included Sarah Connor, Giovanni Zarrella, Till Brönner, Badmómzjay, Mark Forster, Thomas Anders, Rolf Zuckowski, Bonez MC, Madeline Juno, Purple Disco Machine, Rea Garvey, Luciano, 01099 and Milano.

Kontra K was named “Domestic Album of the Year”.

Kontra K received the “Domestic Album of the Year” award for his album “Eyes Dream Hearts See”. The album was the most successful German album in 2025 and at the same time the most successful hip-hop album of the year. In total, Kontra K has 4.2 billion streams in Germany, including 475 million in 2025.

Oimara receives “Domestic Single of the Year”

The “Domestic Single of the Year” award went to Oimara for the track “Wackelkontakt”. The song was number 1 on the Official German Charts for seven weeks in 2025 and was certified gold and platinum. With around 250 million streams, it is one of the most streamed German-language songs of the year.

Zartmann is “Domestic Newcomer of the Year”

Zartmann was honored as “Domestic Newcomer of the Year”. It reached more than 600 million streams in Germany, including 422 million in 2025. Several singles and albums placed in the top 10 of the Official German Charts. The song “Tau mich auf” reached number 1 in the charts and stayed in the top 10 for 35 weeks. This made it the longest-ranking German-language title of 2025. Zachi from the band 01099 gave the laudatory speech.

The Artist Celebration Night is designed as a long-term impulse to honor musical successes and to strengthen exchange within the industry. The aim is to make national chart successes more visible and to offer the music industry a common platform.
