Mainz turns up after the break
After the change of sides, Mainz took over the command. Leandro Barreiro only hit the right post (48′), Yann Sommer parried the rebound in a world-class manner. “Sometimes it just twitches. Luckily he hit my hand,” said the goalkeeper at DAZN.
Gladbach relied on counterplay, but did not play the switching moments well. The FSV was completely different: Substitute Jae-sung Lee started a turbulent final phase with a long-distance attempt, which the strong summer in the Gladbacher Tor defused (72nd).
Mainz was rewarded a minute later: Onisiwo netted after a good pass from Lee. Mainz was now about to turn the game around completely. Sommer held on sensationally against Jonathan Burkardt and Lee (89th) and thus the point for Borussia.

Gladbach will face Fürth on Saturday (April 9th, 2022) at 3.30 p.m., Mainz will have to travel to the Rhineland again and will face Cologne at the same time.
