Little playing time recently

Striker Sebastian Polter is moving from second division club Eintracht Braunschweig to Serbian top club Partizan Belgrade. For the 34-year-old, “the special opportunity arose at short notice to play abroad again for one of Serbia’s top clubs. It was clear to us that we didn’t want to put any obstacles in his way with this project,” said BTSV managing director Benjamin Kessel.
So far this season, the veteran has only made eleven appearances, mostly short ones, lasting a total of 181 minutes. “We spoke openly with Sebastian about his situation; his prospects of playing time would not have increased in the second half of the season either,” said Kessler. Polter explained: “The time in Braunschweig and at Eintracht will always be fondly remembered for me. Now I have a special opportunity to play abroad for a top club again at short notice. I would like to thank those responsible for the always open and honest discussions as well as for the opportunity to go to Partizan. My thanks also go to all my companions and fans – it was a great time.”
It will be the third stop abroad for the former Schalke player, among others. From the summer of 2015 to the beginning of 2017 he was active in England for Queens Park Rangers, in 2020/21 with Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, and is now heading to Serbia. At Partizan he will be the second center forward in the squad alongside Andrej Kostic, because alongside Jovan Milosevic, who moved to Stuttgart and is now on loan to Bremen, Dusan Jovanovic will also be leaving the club this winter.
