The Bavarians begin the second half of the season with yet another victory: in the Bundesliga, Kompany’s team is still unbeaten and has completed a record first half of the season for points and goals scored

Another match compared to the first leg, yet it was enough to win and spread. On the first day, Bayern Munich had swept away Leipzig (6-0), but in the first return match they came back 5-1 (goals from Romulo Cardoso in the 20th minute, Gnabry in the 50th minute, Kane in the 67th minute, Tah in the 83rd minute, Pavlovic in the 85th minute and Olise in the 88th minute). A generous result for the Bavarians, also because only Leipzig played in the first half. In the first 7 minutes, three opportunities were created by the home team: Nusa kicked out in the 3rd minute, Romulo Cardoso was hypnotized by Neuer in the 4th minute and in the 7th minute it was Nusa again who was inaccurate from close range. At 20′ the deserved lead: after a nice Raum-Nusa-Raum triangulation, Romulo Cardoso, anticipating Tah, beat Neuer with a header. A few minutes later it is Nusa, face to face with the opposing goalkeeper who wastes the 2-0. Bayern only saw themselves in the 40th minute, when Gulacsi was courageous in his attack on Kane.

In the second half, Bayern took advantage of Leipzig’s naivety and equalized in the 50th minute: Upamecano was ferocious in his advance on Baumgartner and fed Gnabry who made it 1-1 from a tight angle. The Bavarians begin to push and almost take the lead with Diaz in the 59th minute, when Gulacsi, in two halves, manages with difficulty to prevent the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 67th minute Bayern turned it around: Olise freed himself from Raum with his heel, crossed for Kane who, taking advantage of the poor balance of his direct marker, made it 2-1. Leipzig responds immediately but Neuer (close to renewal) is phenomenal on Diamonde. Yet in the final minutes the match will be anything but balanced: Tah, Pavlovic and Olise (assisted by the returning Musiala) all score mercilessly in the space of just 5 minutes. And so it ends with Bayern spreading. Even in a match in which he suffered.
