Eleven games on the Saturday of the second day back: here’s everything that happened

While waiting for tomorrow’s matches against Vicenza (in Arzignano) and Brescia (in Vercelli), Lecco is making its loudest voice by taking provisional second place. Valente’s team passed with a clear 4-1 in Feltre, where Dolomiti Bellunesi made their professional debut in their stadium but found themselves three goals down already after half an hour (Zanellato, Metlika and an own goal by Burrai). Cittadella slows down, squandering a two-goal lead (from 3-1 to 3-3, a brace from Bunino) with Pergolettese: at the last second the expert Milesi, who arrived two days earlier, equalises, taking advantage of an error in the grip by the Cardinali goalkeeper. Just a draw between Trento and Novara: the 1-1 draw by substitute Alberti comes with the home team just down to ten men due to the red card for Sangalli. Lumezzane climbs into the playoff zone, narrowly beating Alcione with a billiard shot from Mattia Iori midway through the first half. At 29, together with the Brescians, there is also Giana who relaunches after three defeats and overwhelms Pro Patria (seventh consecutive stoppage): in poker, a brace from Luca Ferri with both goals from free kicks. Messaggi’s goal and Sonzogni’s saves were enough for Ospitaletto to overcome a Triestina now ballasted at the bottom, in their fourth consecutive defeat.

Juventus Next Gen never stops, for which Guerra’s winning counterattack was enough to beat Ascoli and achieve their third victory in a row (the guests, however, did better in the first half and protested in the long injury time for a goal disallowed by Gori, a foul on the goalkeeper – some doubts – confirmed after a long Fvs review). Luciano Zauri’s Campobasso has the same points as the Bianconeri (30), led by Bifulco (two good goals, a falling right-footed shot and a lob that goes over the goalkeeper) to win the direct clash against Carpi. Venturato’s Livorno scored a great feat in Guidonia: goal and assist (for Biondi) from 38-year-old Federico Dionisi. A time each between Pianese and Torres, who both end up moving the table by extending their respective useful streaks: in the final Di Stefano comes in and sets the score for the Sassari team, who still remain entangled in the slums.

A single match is played, but it is significant because it is worth Benevento’s reach at the top (at least for one night). The 3-0 against Benevento is another home test of strength for Floro Flores’ team, which has won 31 points out of 33 available in its stadium. Good first half for the guests – with the new Mercadante and Grandolfo starting – then everything changes in the second half and the attackers go wild: after Manconi and Tumminello, joy from the spot also for Salvemini who hadn’t scored for three months (due to injury). The pressure is now on Catania, expected tomorrow in Monopoli.
