The club has reached an agreement on the amount to be paid for its captain and also on the duration of the contract, but the problem remains linked to the amount to be paid to the goalkeeper’s agents
The work to reach the signature on the renewal of Mike Maignan’s contract continues. We are not yet at the white smoke, but in recent days there was a meeting in Milan between the Rossoneri managers and the captain’s agents. The issue of commissions remains to be resolved and, since it is an important figure, it is not an aspect that is underestimated or considered secondary in via Aldo Rossi. At the same time, however, the signals coming from the goalkeeper to his teammates (Rabiot in Como, in the post-victory interview, explained: “He really wants Milan”), to Allegri and his staff, but also to the managers are encouraging. Contact between the agents and the club continues by telephone and it is likely that there will be a new meeting next week or the following. The decisive one? It’s not a given because the numbers have to “add up” for both sides. Not just those of the salary which are essentially okay.
length and clause
—
Certainly, if it is signed, the length of the new agreement will be until 2031 and the fixed part will initially be 5 million to which bonuses will be added that are more or less easy to reach (not only linked to victories). There is no termination clause. This last choice confirms that it is not a “bridge” renewal, but there is a clear desire on the part of the parties to share a project. But now we need an agreement on commissions…
