Iserlohn Roosters: Happy goalscorer Julian Napravnik as well as Daniel Neumann, Robin Norell, Christian Thomas and Maximilian Eisenmenger

As of: January 16, 2026 10:24 p.m

The Iserlohn Roosters continue to work their way forward in the DEL and also beat the Grizzlys from Wolfsburg on their own ice with 2:1 (1:0, 0:0, 0:1, 1:0) in overtime.

For the Sauerlanders it was the third win from the last four games. In doing so, they consolidated twelfth place in the table and are now 20 points ahead of the DEL bottom team, the Dresdner Löwen. Wolfsburg remains eighth.

Good start for the Roosters

The hosts got into the game well in the first third, were able to keep the puck in their own ranks for a long time and get the better of their opponents. Not enough of the guests from Wolfsburg came.

Guided tour of Napravnik

After a quarter of an hour, Julian Napravnik gave the Roosters the lead. After the third break the game became a bit more competitive with time penalties on both sides. Iserlohn entered the final third with a narrow 1-0 lead.

Wood ensures the victory

The Grizzlys from Wolfsburg set the tone offensively and were rewarded by Gemel Smith with the 1-1 equalizer shortly before the end.

In overtime, it was Kyle Wood who secured the Roosters’ home win with his fourth goal of the season.

Now to the sharks

Iserlohn continues on Sunday (4:30 p.m.) with the NRW duel against the currently seemingly invincible Kölner Haie.
