The discipline of the SM League has given HIFK’s Iiro Pakarinen a three-game suspension.
On Wednesday, Pakarinen tackled KooKoo’s Samuel Valkeejärvi in the head area and flew into the shower.
The disciplinary delegation saw the situation as worthy of further punishment.
– The tackle goes to the front of Valkeejärvi, and in the tackle Pakarinen’s left shoulder makes direct contact with Valkeejärvi’s head, delegation report.
– Targeting the tackle on the opponent’s head could have been avoided by directing the tackle better to the body line and not to the front of it. In addition, the disciplinary delegation states that the tackle is directed upwards, and at the time of the tackle Pakarinen’s skates are slightly off the ice, the release continues.
Pakarinen will miss HIFK’s matches against Tappara (January 16), Kiekko-Espoo (January 17) and Sport (January 21).
Pakarinen only had time to play four matches after being badly injured in the fall. He has made power points 1+1.
