Premiere for the 1. FC Cologne: Before the home game against FC Bayern Munich, there was a drone show for the first time at the RheinEnergieStadion. A total of 300 glowing flying objects took off from the Westkampfbahn and performed a coordinated light show in the night sky over Cologne. Main sponsor Rewe initiated the campaign.
The fans saw, among other things, the Billy Goats’ coat of arms in flashing lights, the words “Come on FC” above the stadium pylons and a fan with an FC flag in his hand. A spectacular welcome for the 50,000 fans in Müngersdorf, even if at the end of the evening not all fans were able to go home satisfied after the 1:3.

Despite strong phases, 1. FC Cologne lost the home game against FC Bayern Munich 1:3 (1:1) in the Rhein-Energie-Stadion. Linton Maina gave FC the lead after winning the ball and a long solo, but the league leaders equalized through Serge Gnabry before the break. After the break, Cologne failed to take the lead again several times before Minjae Kim put Bayern in front after a corner. In the final phase, Lennart Karl made the decision. Cologne cannot win for the eighth game in a row, but showed a decent performance for long stretches.

The personnel shortage in Cologne’s defense is getting worse. With Timo Hübers, Joel Schmied and Dominique Heintz, three central defenders are currently out due to injuries. According to information from well-known transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, FC has targeted Stefan Posch as a solution. The 28-year-old Austrian is currently on loan from FC Bologna to Como, but is hardly getting a chance there: in 20 appearances, the 49-time national player was only in the starting line-up once. According to Romano, initial discussions have already taken place.
