FC St. Gallen 1879 has extended the contract with coach Enrico Maaßen by one year. The 41-year-old signed a new working paper until June 30, 2028. Maaßen has been on the sidelines at FCSG since the summer of 2024 and scored an average of 1.63 points in 75 games. After eighth place in the first season, his team is currently second in the Super League and is fighting for the championship title.
“We as a club want to develop. We want to continually take steps forward. And Enno also has this drive. He identifies with our club, develops players demonstrably and allows the employees around him to grow. He also remains inquisitive, open and adapts his thoughts to the bigger picture. The collaboration is trusting, direct and always in the best interests of the club. We are all the more pleased about the early contract extension,” explained sports director Roger Stilz.
Maaßen, whose first Bundesliga engagement at FC Augsburg was less successful, added: “We work in a stable and healthy club and can develop something sustainably here. We feel the appreciation day after day and can do our work with calm and full concentration. We are very grateful to the club management for this and are happy to continue on our path together.”
