National motorcyclist Toprak Razgatlıoğlu aims to get to the podium in his first year in the MotoGP World Championship.
The Prima Pramac Yamaha motorcycle that Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, who will start his MotoGP career with Yamaha’s factory-supported satellite team Prima Pramac, will use in the 2026 season, was introduced in Siena, Italy. The national motorcyclist made a statement after the presentation.
Red Bull athlete Toprak said, “It is a very special moment for us. We are becoming MotoGP riders for the first time. It is a very special moment, we can say that our dreams have come true. We had such a dream years ago. But it was very far away for us. Now we are where we dreamed of. I hope everything will be fine.” he said.
“IF WE CAN GET THE Podium in the FIRST SEASON, IT WILL BE AMAZING FOR US”
The national motorcyclist, who won the championship for the third time in the World Superbike Championship last season, reminded that he will compete in MotoGP for the first time and said, “Everything will be new for us. Everyone has great expectations in MotoGP. I am trying to reduce that expectation a little. Because the learning year for MotoGP is completely different for us. We have a lot to learn.” he said.
Regarding his goals in the first year, Toprak said, “It will be great for us if we can get a podium in the first season. Because we need motivation, too. With your support, we will try to get through the first year somehow. I think we will enter 2027 stronger.” he said.
“I USE 07 NOW”
Stating that he will race with a different number in MotoGP, Toprak said:
“As you know, my number is not 54 anymore. There is another pilot here who uses number 54. When I took over the number 54 and the flag from Kenan brother, we achieved special things. Especially in Superbike, we became champions 3 times. I wanted to continue with number 54 in MotoGP, but since another pilot was using it, we switched to another number. I was thinking of number 7, there were also special names who used number 7 before, but it seemed plain, I did not like 07. We asked the organization and they agreed. I was really pleased because my first number in my motorcycle career was 07 and now I use 07. I hope it will bring us luck, we made history with number 54, now we will make history in MotoGP.

Stating that he wants to make history in MotoGP, Toprak said, “I have a dream, we did not come here on holiday. We represent our country, we wave our flag. We need to wave it in the best possible way. I came here to represent my country, to wave my flag, especially to do good deeds and make history. My biggest dream in my life is that when I type Toprak Razgatlıoğlu into Google, I would love it to say Superbike and MotoGP champion. I hope that if it is written, we will all witness it together.” made his assessment.

Turkish Motorcycle Federation (TMF) National Teams Captain Kenan Sofuoğlu said, “It was Toprak’s night of pride. Everyone wanted to see him in MotoGP and he was officially introduced with his engine. He went on tests in Spain. In the tests we took, Toprak gave signals about his MotoGP future.” he said.
