The cabaret artist is canceling all performances on his “Turn on the big light” tour between January and March 2026.

Torsten Sträter has put all appearances scheduled for spring 2026 on hold. Like his management on the official Homepage informed, all events cannot take place between January and March 2026. The reason is that the cabaret artist is ill, which requires a “long-term regeneration phase”.

No further information was given about the type of illness. Management asks that the 59-year-old’s privacy be respected and that you refrain from making further inquiries.

No replacement dates planned

Due to the high number of affected dates, no alternative dates can be offered. Ticket buyers are asked to contact the respective ticket provider or organizer directly for refunds.

The unusual “Turn on the big light” show appearances took Sträter to numerous German cities – including Bochum, Bamberg, Göttingen, Düsseldorf, Essen and Cologne.

Career and awards

Torsten Sträter is one of the most prominent cabaret artists in Germany. Born in Dortmund, he has received several awards, including the German Comedy Prize and the Grimme Prize for his work in the program “Sträter’s Men’s Household”. His most famous programs include “So semi” and “It’s never too late to be unpunctual”. With his characteristic melancholic manner and his absurd everyday observations, he has been delighting a wide audience for years.

New tour announced for fall 2026

Further tour stages with Torsten Sträter’s new program “The Cyclopes of Saint-Tropez” are planned for the 2026/27 season. These are scheduled to begin in autumn 2026 and run until the end of 2027, with stations in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Saarbrücken and Leipzig, among others.
