The trade rumors surrounding Daniel Gafford from the Dallas Mavericks continue. According to an insider, three teams are interested in signing the center.
According to Marc Stein, these are the Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers and the Atlanta Hawks. The Georgia franchise has also been repeatedly linked to Anthony Davis and has “always insisted that they were never willing to include former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher” in an offer for AD.
The negotiations could be taken in a new direction, with a smaller solution. “I’ve heard from one or two rival execs that the team could pivot to a possible Gafford trade instead,” Stein said. Risacher would therefore no longer be part of the talks.
For the Pacers, the insider does not provide any further details about possible trade packages; Boston recently checked the market for possible deals involving Anfernee Simons.
Gafford has made 28 appearances for the Texans this season. In around 20 minutes per game, he averages 7.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
