Ski jumper Felix Hoffmann will “most likely” miss the upcoming World Cup in Sapporo, Japan.
His knee problems are “getting better every day,” said the 28-year-old on Monday in Munich while getting dressed for the Winter Olympics, but “with the decision to take a break, a bit of a cold has set in.”
Due to the strain of the journey, he will “most likely miss out” in Japan in order to be fit again for the subsequent Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf. Hoffmann had complained of knee problems after the Four Hills Tournament and, like Philipp Raimund, who had a cold, took a break in Zakopane last weekend.
Raimund, on the other hand, will probably fly to Japan. He was “definitely feeling better,” he said: “I’m back among the living. I hope I can be there in Japan at the weekend too.”
