Black ice is expected in Drenthe tonight, which could make the road ‘treacherously slippery’ according to the KNMI. That is why the weather institute has issued code orange for almost the entire country, including Drenthe.
The warning applies in our province from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
‘There is a high risk of accidents due to slippery bridges, roads, cycle paths and footpaths. The slipperiness will often be difficult to see, which makes it treacherous for road users,” the KNMI said.
In much of the country, the icy and slippery conditions will disappear during the night, but not yet in the Northeast. The warning therefore applies in Drenthe until the morning.
