1. FC Union Berlin is close to signing central defender Zeno Van Den Bosch from Royal Antwerp. “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg confirmed a report by Sacha Tavolieri about an agreement. The 22-year-old Belgian should therefore sign with the Eiserne until 2030. Everything is already clear between the player and Union, and negotiations between the two clubs are also said to have progressed.

The final details still need to be clarified before Van Den Bosch can complete the medical check with the Köpenickers. The former youth international has an expiring contract in Antwerp and his market value is estimated at 8 million euros. In mid-December he was down two million. Last summer, Van den Bosch was traded at Borussia Mömchengladbach as a replacement for Ko Itakura, who had moved to Ajax Amsterdam.
Bundesliga club Union needs a solution for the defense center because two central defenders, Danilho Doekhi (27) and Diogo Leite (26), and thus two of the three most valuable players in the squad, will leave in the summer at the latest and will not be extended. If the club wants to collect another transfer fee, it has to give up one of the two in the winter. Recently there was speculation that it could hit Leite. Meanwhile, defensive goalscorer Doekhi (six goals this season across all competitions) is specifically linked to Leeds United. At the end of the year, “Sky” reported that German coach Daniel Farke was interested. Like Doekhi, Van Den Bosch is right-footed.
