HIFK’s goalkeeper injured in Friday’s match against Ilves Hugo Alnefelt will not be in the lineup when the teams meet again on Saturday.
Alnefelt was injured yesterday in the opening set of the match in a scary looking scuffle. Lynx Teemu Engberg drove to the finish line. On contact, his foot hit Alnefelt in the head.
The HIFK goalkeeper fell backwards and remained motionless on the surface of the ice. The Helsinki audience fell silent immediately.
Alnefelt, who had been lying on the ice for a long time, was taken from the rink on a stretcher. The goalkeeper gave the crowd a thumbs up as he lay there.
However, the crash was so violent that HIFK will not play him today, Saturday.
– Goalkeeper Hugo Alnefelt, who was injured in yesterday’s match, has been discharged from the hospital and is doing well considering what happened. The return schedule is evaluated based on the results of follow-up examinations.
In the evening’s match against Ilves, the responsibility for tackling is borne by the player returning from illness Niko Hovinen. Also returning to the lineup Paavo Kohonen works as a doorman.
