TEHRAN (dpa-AFX) – Iran’s judiciary has threatened the demonstrators with enormous punishments. “The punishment of the rebellious and trouble-making elements will be decisive, maximum and without any legal leniency,” said justice chief Gholam-Hussein Mohseni-Ejehi, according to state radio.
On Thursday evening, Iran experienced the largest demonstrations since the current wave of protests began. The Iranian security apparatus completely shut down the Internet for the population. After security forces allegedly opened fire on demonstrators, unconfirmed reports of numerous deaths increased.
