BREMEN (dpa-AFX) – Planes were only able to take off late or failed completely due to a power outage at Bremen Airport. The security check for passengers was temporarily out of order, an airport spokesman said. The disruption was resolved by midday and operations could continue as normal.

In the morning there was smoke in a generator room. How this came about is still unclear. Employees activated a separate power supply to ensure flight operations. According to the airport, an electrician was injured during the operation and received medical treatment.

The power outage only affected some areas of the airport, so aircraft were able to land as planned./miu/DP/mis
