TNT channel’s popular sports reporter Laura Woods told Happy Hour podcast about an embarrassing moment he had with darts star Steve Beaton.
During his career, Beaton was known by the nickname “The Bronzed Adonis”. British newspaper of the Daily Star according to him, he is considered “devilishly handsome”.
When Woods once interviewed Beaton, his goodbye went terribly wrong. The journalist had planned to shake hands and thank the star player, but ended up kissing him on the mouth.
The series of events was incredible in all its tragicomics.
– I thanked Steve and held out my hand, but he wanted to hug me. So I reached my arms around him and thought about a kiss on the cheek. Then he thought I was about to kiss him, so he turned and we kissed each other on the mouth, Woods said.
– I thought, oh my God, what have I gone to do?
Woods hurried to the production car, and the rest of the team came to ask if he was okay.
– I held my head in my hands. I said I just kissed the bronze Adon on the mouth and felt his beard. I felt like I had done the worst thing in the world, Woods recalled.
