Although the snow on the road, in the air and on the track Monday causes many problemsit also provides fun. For many children, the snow is the reason to go outside en masse after school.
The same goes for Zian. Gaming is his favorite hobby, but when there is snow, he has to take the sled. “I hope to be able to sled for the rest of my life.”
Racing with the sled
He is not the only one enjoying the winter fun. When Macy stood up, she looked out the window and knew what time it was. “Then I thought, ‘Yeah, we’re going sledding today.’ You can slide nicely in the snow and make good progress.”
She has already gone down the hill in Juliana Park five times with her brother Jason, but that is not enough. They want to race each other. “I’m the fastest,” Jason claims, while Macy says the exact opposite. In the end it turns out that she is just faster.
‘The child in me comes out’
Parents also enjoy the winter fun. Besides the fact that the children can burn off their energy, they also like to participate. “The child in me comes out again. This does me good and makes me happy,” says one of the mothers.
Macy also hopes that the snow will last at least another week. “Then I can still get down the hill with my sled every day.”
