The police in Den Bosch experienced exactly the same, special situation in two days: officers saw a car twice this weekend in which the driver had changed while driving. And it turned out there was more going on.
It started on Friday evening, when officers drove on the A2 near Den Bosch, the police wrote on social media. Officers then saw a car passing by that they knew was possibly driven by someone who did not have a valid driver’s license.
Car starts to sway
They decided to signal the driver to stop, but then the car started to swerve. A little later, at the carpool place in Rosmalen, the officers suddenly understood why. “To our surprise, we saw a woman, who was previously sitting in the passenger seat, behind the wheel,” the officers wrote.
Next to her sat a man who was now sweating profusely. And indeed: his driver’s license turned out to be invalid. The woman and the man were probably under the influence and were arrested. They were fined, including for causing danger.
Still jail time outstanding
Less than 24 hours later, officers in Den Bosch saw another car driving in which someone had recently driven without a driver’s license. That car also had to stop and was checked.
Once again it turned out that the driver had been changed in the meantime. One driver also had an invalid driver’s license and the other, 17-year-old driver, drove without his supervisor. One of the two also appeared to have to spend another 26 days in prison. “He was allowed to serve that sentence immediately,” the officers said.
Car seized
Because it was not the first time, the car was seized. These drivers may also have been under the influence and were fined for dangerous driving.
