Monique Smit has withdrawn her jubilant message about the closed airspace above the ABC islands. Lame, says RTL Boulevard’s royalty expert Jeroen Snel. “That is very woke.”
The American attack on Venezuela led to the closure of the airspace above the ABC Islands, which also resulted in quite a few Dutch celebrities being trapped. There are traditionally many stars in Aruba, Bonaire and especially Curaçao around New Year’s Eve, but of course the airspace does not open for them either.
Monique is happy
Monique Smit (36) is currently on Bonaire and says she does not mind that the airspace has been closed, despite the fact that this is of course very harmful to the economy on the ABC islands.
The singer writes with a sunny photo from her place of residence: “Cancelled flights… Must say, it would not be a punishment to have to stay here.”
She turns a long nose at the people: “Snow and frost in the Netherlands and we are here.”
Removed again
Lex Uiting points out in RTL Boulevard that reality star Michella Kox was unable to fly to Curaçao due to the attack, but: “For Monique Smit, the holiday will last a little longer, because she announced from Bonaire that she would not mind staying a little longer, but she has now deleted that story.”
Royalty expert Jeroen Snel is shocked by this. “Then why?”
‘That’s woke!’
Lex has not spoken to Monique personally, but thinks that her statements were somewhat sensitive to the people who work in tourism there. “Yes, I think she thought: maybe it wasn’t entirely appropriate to post that now.”
Jeroen concludes: “Yes, that is very woke. Isn’t it true? She’s staying and it’s not a punishment, is it? Well yes.”
