The German international is successful again against FC Fulham. Nevertheless, the English champions have struggled for a long time. The game starts with an early shock. In stoppage time all dams break.

Second goal of the season for Florian Wirtz in a Liverpool FC jersey – and yet the “Reds” made a dramatic mistake. The reigning English champions couldn’t get past 2-2 (0-1) at FC Fulham, twelfth in the table, and failed to shorten the gap to the top.

A crime thriller developed in Fulham. Harry Wilson gave Fulham an early lead (17′), but Liverpool struggled as a result.

After falling behind at half-time, Argentine world champion Alexis Mac Allister narrowly missed the equalizer with a header against the crossbar (53′). Wirtz then equalized with his second goal of the season after a pass from Conor Bradley (57th). The German international and Liverpool still had to overcome anxious moments: Referee Craig Pawson had originally ruled for offside, but the VAR corrected the decision. Only a week ago, after a long wait, the international scored his first goal in the Premier League.

The guests were lucky when Wilson hit the crossbar of the empty Liverpool goal with a lob (78th). In stoppage time, the madness broke out in Fulham: First Cody Gakpo turned the game around for the guests (90+4), then Harrison Reed shocked Liverpool with a dream goal from distance in the very last second (90+7) and made the final score 2-2.

Due to a medical emergency, the game started a good quarter of an hour later. On Thursday the Reds have to play against leaders Arsenal FC.
