When you enter the driveway of Beeksestraat 1 in Prinsenbeek, you immediately feel it: this is no ordinary house. Behind the electric gate is De Nispenhoeve, a nationally listed farmhouse full of character and history. “It is a place where history is palpable, but where you do not have to compromise on comfort,” says Mona van de Wiel of Van de Wiel Makelaars. And as soon as you step inside, you’ll understand why.

The farm was built in 1891, on a property that had been in use for centuries. For years, De Nispenhoeve was owned by one family and it grew into a household name in Prinsenbeek.

The farm was thoroughly renovated between 2010 and 2013, with one clear agreement: preserve what can be preserved. “And that worked out well,” says Van de Wiel.

Authentic atmosphere and contemporary luxury
Inside you can immediately see what this careful approach has led to. The wooden beams, old tiles and wooden floors have been preserved throughout the house, so that the authentic atmosphere remains palpable.

In the living and dining room there are even original box beds, which immediately attract attention. “These are one of those places that people automatically stop to think about,” says Van de Wiel. “For me, that is really one of the most beautiful places in the house.”

The kitchen at the front also breathes history, with original mosaic tiles on the floor. “If you walk further through the house, you will encounter even more surprises, such as an old air raid shelter.”

The convenience of today
Although it is a historic house, you do not have to compromise on comfort here. The Nispenhoeve has been completely modernized, with underfloor heating, a wood pellet stove, 36 solar panels and a new roof. “It is ready to move in, but completely in the atmosphere of the time,” explains the real estate agent.

The farmhouse has a total of six bedrooms, two bathrooms and several living rooms.

Space for living and more
What makes this place extra special is that it does not stop at just one building. There are several outbuildings on the site, including a large Flemish barn, a barn and a bakery. The Flemish barn has been completely renovated and is now used for weddings, funerals, cooking workshops and art exhibitions. “This place is really known for that in Brabant and the surrounding area,” says the real estate agent.

Thanks to the extra spaces, the farm can be used in various ways: double occupancy, informal care, working at home or combining living with an activity.

A garden to get lost in
The yard covers no less than 11,569 m², which gives the feeling of a park instead of a garden. Old trees, terraces, an animal corner and plenty of greenery invite you to take long walks without leaving the grounds. “You can, as it were, take a morning walk through your own park,” says Van de Wiel. And all this while both the center of Prinsenbeek and the highway are close by.

Looking for a special owner
According to Van de Wiel, the Nispenhoeve is not for everyone. “It is a special home for a special owner.” With a living area of 525 m², it is for sale for 2,950,000 euros.
